KG Threads Amapiano, Gqom, UK Funky And Afrobeats Together For Scorching 'Sensei II' EP

June 28, 2021

She's been teasing out extracts for a little while now — beginning with Mista Silva collab "Koko", Toya Delazy collab "Nzinga" in April, and then "Mantra" with Taliwhoah last month — but KG has now released her long-awaited EP, Sensei II.

The first edition, which dropped last year, marked KG's return to the music game after taking a brief hiatus. It was an explosive start to a triumphant second act that included a remix of Swing Ting's "Drama" with Thai Chi Rose and a collaborative EP with Jersey club icon UNIIQU3. Arriving as the jewel in the year's crown, Sensei II is the perfect addition to a flawless run.

As with much of her recent creations, Sensei II continues her exploration of the deep, guttural rumbles of UK funky, gqom and the darker side of Amapiano. It's bassy and it's raw, but there's a hands-in-the-air joyousness to it that's easy to get swept up in.

To mark the occasion, KG will also be holding an EP launch party on July 2 at NT's Loft in East London where she'll be joined by Mista Silva, Ikonika, Tash LC and Kitty Amor.
