KG Calls On Taliwhoah For Sun-Scorched Roller "Mantra"

June 09, 2021

We're inching ever closer to the release of Sensei II, the new EP from multi-talented producer KG, and she's just liberated another gem, "Mantra". The new club-ready love jam features Taliwhoah on vocals and follows a string of equally excellent collabs with Mista Silva and Toya Delazy.

KG's productions are always lively, smouldering club cuts and always imbued with emotion, but "Mantra" might be the most evocative yet. Leaning heavily into Taliwhoah's R&B expertise, it's part slow-jam, part euphoric club cut, and a perfect fit for sweat-soaked raving.

Sharing her thoughts on the track, KG commented: "'Mantra' — a person's slogan, strong belief etc. In this song, Taliwhoah affirms that she is intentional with who she loves, she feels real things. This track has future house/R&B remnants — we wanted to make this a euphoric roller for the listener to vibe to, to relate to. It is a love song."

Sensei II arrives June 25 via Black Acre. You can join KG for the EP's launch party on July 2 at NT's Loft in East London where she'll be joined by Mista Silva, Ikonika, Tash LC and Kitty Amor.
