Little Simz is finally getting the silverware and acclaim she deserves, but it's been a very, very long time coming. Because of an odd technicality that meant she was only eligible for a BRIT once her work charted, she was awarded Best Newcomer at this year's awards. For those in the know, of course, she's been celebrated as a true great for years now.

To put all that in perspective, she released her debut mixtape over a decade ago and her journey started even earlier than that. We've already shown you the video of her and Avelino rapping outside The Camden Roundhouse, but this video from a decade ago is proof that there's always been more to her artistry than barring. As it turns out, she's also a gifted pianist with a natural instinct for melody.

Whatever the next album brings—and let's not think too far into the future, SIMBI still has plenty to keep it in rotation for a good while yet—if she were to release a stripped-back album of her at the piano, we'd be absolutely fine with that.
