Premiered recently at Peckhamplex, presenter and DJ Henrie Kwushue has dropped the second episode of her three-part docuseries entitled Is Your Area Changing?. The series tackles the effects of gentrification in different parts of the capital, and in this episode, Kwushue takes a trip to Peckham.

Traditionally a stronghold for the African and Caribbean communities, the documentary gives an insight into the reaction of the long-standing residents to the slow displacement of the working class, which has coincided with an influx of upmarket bars and boutiques.

The rising star explores the South London district in both the day and night time, highlighting the contrast between her perception of the area 15 years ago and the present day. In a message to TRENCH, Kwushue stated that her "inspiration to create the documentary arose during a late-night drive that sparked my astonishment in the changing state of Peckham."

The informative documentary consists of various interviews with residents and shop owners, leading to the general consensus that although there is an acceptance of the changes within the area, the cultural identity needs to be sustained for the future generations. One local resident metaphorically explained to a nightclub-goer that "he is the change in Peckham", an expression that a significant proportion of the community can relate to.
