Following on from a recent appearance on KwolleM's recent Melo project, DC returns with his first single of the year, the Emil-produced "Mains".

The soulful instrumental matches DC's introspective bars perfectly, giving flight to his grounded perspective. Opening bars about his faith in God, leading into a Blazing Squad reference sum up DC's scope and energy on this one. Aspirational yet humble, "Mains" is a welcome reminder of DC's unique approach to rhyming.

Although not prolific, DC's quality has never been in doubt and "Mains" points to the possibility of him taking it to even higher levels very soon. Meanwhile, producer Emil is a top scorer when it comes to both quality and quantity, giving us Unknown T's "Bon Appetit" and Odeal's "Gave You My All" in just the last few weeks.

Speaking on the new track and his work with Emil, DC shares: "'Mains' is an honest representation of where my mind is at, at the moment. It's a mixture of my current thoughts and feelings about my life, things that are going on around me, and glimpses of what I think of the future. The songs make me screw up my face in enjoyment; from the hard-hitting lyrics to the production, everything meshes well perfectly. The process of making it was longer than I thought it would be, mainly down to me being a perfectionist. But I've been working with Emil for a while now and I had faith that we would be able to make the vision I had for the song a reality. And we did just that."
