KwolleM has been one of the most revered names in London's music and fashion scene for some years. After a three-year hiatus, he steps back into music realm with his new EP, Melo. In this day and age, three years is a long time to leave between albums, but given that he has only grown in stature in the fashion world, and become a father in that time, we're inclined to pardon him for his absence.

The new collection is named after his recently born daughter, and the first track "GIRLDAD" addresses the new phase in his life. East London MC, frequent collaborator and close to KwolleM, Joe James features on this and five other tracks, and the EP also features other new school 140 bpm specialists BXKS, Unknown T, Novelist, AJ Tracey, as well as underground heavyweights Ashbeck and DC.

Being from East London himself, it's no surprise that KwolleM continues to pay homage to his Grime influences, but what is impressive is his pioneering of a ‘mellow Grime’ sound that has made for one of the year’s best listens. Tap in below.
