Children Of Zeus Find 'Balance' On Soulful New Album

June 07, 2021

Following up from 2018's influential debut Travel Light, Children Of Zeus have returned with their album, Balance, and it's a sweet testament to their growth as musicians. Although it's been three years since the last, the Manchester duo have been warming our bellies with a handful of singles, some of which make appearances on the album.

The experience begins with the soulful opener "Sunrise", which sees Tyler Daley flex his vocal range over the stripped down backdrop of layered gospel-like harmonies. It smoothly segues into the hip-hop-tinged grooves of "No Love Song" and "I Know" before we are transported to "Be Someone" where we get tales of their everyday struggles and lessons learnt along the way, all delivered with buttery vocals reminiscent of R&B singer Jon B.

With production credits snagged by Cay Caleb and Beat Butcha, Balance is a melting pot of their neo-soul, R&B and mellow rap influences that they've interpreted with a uniqueness that's truly unmatched. Children Of Zeus have carved out a permanent space for their sound in UK music and for that alone they deserve their flowers.
