Breaking his silence after some time away from the game, Yxng Bane returns with a surprise new mixtape, Colossal, a team effort with producer Zeeko.

Uploaded only to YouTube, the project is a throwback to a different era in UK music before the days of subscription platforms. It's a nostalgic touch, but it's also likely to be at least in part due to the difficulty clearing the sample of Amy Winehouse's vocals on "Back To Black". Elsewhere, Ray BLK assists on "Times Like This" and the final guest credit goes to Gunna (also on "Back To Black"), although it turns out that happens to be the name of Bane's dog.

The last full-length project we got from Yxng Bane was the lockdown-themed Quarantine: The Lost Files, the title of which should let you know how long it's been since Bane has stepped fully into the light. The words "better late than never" have never been more appropriate.
