The evolution of Wesley Joseph continues as he shares his debut album proper, Forever Ends Someday.

Years in the making, the sound Joseph arrives at on the album has been developing and coalescing since he first emerged in 2020. Across two EPs—Ultramarine and Glow—and several singles, Joseph's unique take on rap has grown considerably.

There's more than just rap at play on Forever Ends Someday, though. Pop, R&B, psychedelia, experimental electronica, indie and much more are all folded into his patchwork sound. Production-wise, he's brought in the big guns to pull that off, sourcing instrumentals from A.K. Paul, Nicolas Jaar, Harvey Dweller, Tev'n, Al Shux, Ryan Raines and Romil Hemnani, plus guest appearances from Danny Brown and Jorja Smith.

On the subject of Smith, her contribution to the album, "July", also got a video that Joseph himself directed. An intimate and wistful affair, the video puts the two Walsall natives lost in nostalgia as they think back to their formative years in their hometown and how far they've both come.

Speaking on "July", Joseph shares: "[The song] was written during a difficult time for me but equally a time where I felt really thankful for the things that I do have. Just as the song started making sense and I knew what it was about—Jorja text me. It was scary timing because in that moment I knew this was our song. We recorded her vocals back home in Walsall after a day catching up in the sun reminiscing and dreaming, talking about growing up, how much everything's changed and how far we've come. It was a really special thing to be sat with one of my oldest friends having a 360 moment on record."
