Tyrell Trey Returns With A Silky Smooth Tale Of Infatuation On "Lose My Cool"

October 09, 2020

Back in July, R&B newcomer Tyrell Trey made his debut with "Worth", a soothing and uplifting offering born of a life-long love for artists like D'Angelo and 702. Today he returns with the follow-up, "Lose My Cool", a smooth and soulful track with a gently bumping instrumental. As Tyrell explains in greater detail below, "Lose My Cool" centres around that moment of overwhelming infatuation in the early days of a relationship.

"'Lose My Cool' is for all my heart on the sleeve type people," Tyrell explains, "talking honestly about the emotions that surround falling for someone. For me it's about the stage of becoming lowkey vulnerable and loosing your control of a situation with someone romantically. It's not a love song still. It was inspired by numerous situations and I wrote it as a burst of emotion in the moment. I rewrote the verses as my perspective evolved but the hook remained the same throughout the process."
