It's been a two-year hiatus for neo-jazz musician Tara Lily, but she's made a grand return to the spotlight with the sultry cut ''The Things You Do''.

Known for her trademark mouldings of traditional technical jazz with genres that she soaked up in her earlier years, she continues to forge a deeply original sound that places listeners at the centre of every emotion she expresses. Take the 2018 gem ''Who Saw Who'', where she explores the destabilising effects of insecurities and doubts in a relationship over a mixture of jazzy melodies, sombre horn ad libs and grime-infused beats courtesy of BBK's Jammer.

''The Things You Do'' is Lily's first release under the newly-launched Motown Records UK and will also make an appearance on her debut project Lost In London. Speaking on the release, she shares: ''It's very raw and very real; the lyrical content of most of my songs are deep, I talk about things that a lot of people don't want to talk about, and that's why it feels like dark R&B jazz; the dark comes from those difficult but important feelings that are expressed.''

The stellar visuals, in collaboration with production company Girls In Film, reveal another layer to her creative depth as she wraps us in her world of vintage glamour and old-time jazz imagery. With a vocal tone reminiscent of jazz greats like Billie Holiday and the influence of the diverse sounds of London, Tara Lily is a genre-blending force to be reckoned with in UK music.

While we patiently wait for her debut EP, tune into ''The Things You Do'' below.
