Strandz has dropped his final release of the year, "An Idea Was Born".

The new track is a bit of a shift in tone from his usual bangers; he's more introspective than usual and he's called on in-demand collaborator tendai to provide some pained vocals for the track's chorus. A link-up between these two artists is unexpected but the track definitely benefits from their differences.

Speaking on "An Idea Was Born", Strandz shares: "An idea was born is a reflection on some of the craziest moments of my come up alongside a look into some of my future aspirations, it's a message from me to my supporters to show my appreciation and how far we are going to take it."

Strandz's London-centric take on golden-era hip-hop has earned him fans at a crazy rate this year. Cuts like "J'adore'' and "Feeling Alive'' packed an infectious bounce through classic production templates and the South Londoner's laidback flow. Meanwhile, tendai has spent 2023 releasing tender, soul-searching songs such as "Tried To Fly'' and "want u bck :*''. That the two artists are able to craft such an enjoyable middle ground is testament to the breadth and quality of the UK scene.
