British rapper Denzel Himself has been busy lately working on the video for his latest single "Chevi", which takes us on a nostalgic trip round the home he grew up in. Just in case you need catching up, Denzel is a self-described straight-edge hardcore punk rapper, and his music takes cues as much from hardcore as it does the hip-hop of 50 Cent and Slum Village he also cites as inspirations. 

"Chevi", like much of his output, is dark, percussive hip-hop with a deep groove to it. The video itself is fairly straightforward but the camera style is choppy and shaky to match Denzel's staccato flow. Comparisons are already being drawn between Denzel Himself and Tyler, The Creator, but you can also hear elements as disparate as Anderson .Paak and Roots Manuva in his off-kilter flow.
