Stormzy's Monumental New Album 'Heavy Is The Head' Has Arrived

December 16, 2019

After months of teasing — and a couple of singles along the way — Stormzy's Heavy Is The Head album has now arrived.

The new album dropped on Friday, following the release of "Own It" with Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy and then "Audacity" with Headie One, and quickly dominated every conversation in the country. The 16-tracker also rounded up earlier singles "Vossi Bop", "Wiley Flow" and "Crown". Elsewhere on Heavy Is The Head, the remaining features include H.E.R., Tiana Major9, Aitch and YEBBA, while production comes from regular collaborator Fraser T. Smith as well as T-Minus, Fred Gibson, Jimmy Napes, MJ Cole, AoD, Jay Weathers, E.Y and more.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Stormzy explained: "This time around it was me on a really reflective, deeper, mental one. With GSAP, that was always going to be a South London story. It was 23 years of my life. Up until that moment, that was my whole story. Whereas Heavy Is The Head was me going to the studio and asking, who am I, what do I have to say, what do I need to say? It's all these truths, it's all these stories about who I am today, bearing the brunt of being Stormzy. Yes, I feel like the best MC in the fucking world, but I also feel like I can't take all of this."

Heavy Is The Head is out now.
