Stormzy's #Merky Books Is On The Lookout For New Young Writers

March 13, 2019

Stormzy has already got two books credited to his #Merky publishing imprint: the first being his biographical, Rise Up: The #Merky Story So Far, and the second being Taking Up Space, an examination of diversity in British education. Now, in collaboration with The Good Literary Agency and First Story he has launched his latest venture: The #Merky New Writer's Prize.

The aim of the competition is to connect with young writers from across the UK and ROI, and find a new work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry to publish. The winner will receive a publishing contract with #Merky Books, as well as representation from The Good Literary Agency, while shortlisted writers will be invited to a special event in London, including writing workshops, presentations from Penguin Random House authors, and personalised one-on-one feedback.

Participants must be unpublished writers between the ages of 16 and 30, with applications closing on April 12. For more information head here.
