Slowthai Stakes His Claim To The Throne In "Nothing Great About Britain"

May 07, 2019

As the May 17 release date of his debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, fast approaches, Slowthai has now unloaded the free-wheeling visuals for the project's title track. In the new video we see Slowthai gradually emerge from a framed portrait before making his claim on the throne by draw Excalibur from the stone and then going on the run from authorities. It's another tongue-in-cheek takedown of the UK in 2019, but there are also some cleverly made points in there about masculinity, nationalism, cultural appropriation and more. As ever, the lyrics are densely packed with wit, humour and just a bit of anger, which should get you very excited for the album's drop next week.
