Slowthai Reflects On The Deeper Parts Of His Childhood In Video For Album Highlight "Toaster"

His debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, was recently nominated for Album Of The Year for the 2019 Mercury Prize and he's been confirmed to be supporting Liam Gallagher on his UK arena tour, as well as embarking on a headline tour of his own. But within all of this, slowthai has still managed to conjure up a video for album highlight "Toaster".

The song was one of the moments on the album that tugged at your heart strings, in which the Northampton rapper spoke about the highs and lows of his childhood. The video, meanwhile, takes a docu-style approach, moving between narrative and performance as he returns to his first house in the city and further shares details of his life there and reveals the stories behind the lyrics.
