Nia Archives Gives Skin On Skin's "Burn Dem Bridges" A Heart-Racing Facelift With New Edit

December 09, 2022

MOBO-winner Nia Archives has released non-stop bangers this year, from her Forbidden Feelingz tape to the summertime heater "No Time" featuring Beenie Man, Cristale, ShaSimone and Clipz and of course the Brazilian-infused "Baianá". Now, in the final stretch of the year, she continues her winning streak with an edit of Skin On Skin's "Burn Dem Bridges", which premiered on her headline Boiler Room set.

Scattered with berserk breakbeats and Nia's staple drum patterns, her explosive rhythms are the perfect match for Skin On Skin's original club primer. Quick rhymes attempt to push through all the chaos with a few key phrases chopped and repeated for added effects. It's a rollercoaster of dynamics as we dip into simpler moments of pure drums before we plunge into a cascade of beats, vocals and fizzy effects.

Speaking on the edit, Nia Archives says: "This was so fun to make an edit of one of my favourite underground tracks of the year, it was a Boiler Room highlight for me and has been going off in my sets the past couple of months."
