North-West London's SIMMS has revealed his latest EP, Traversal Tapes, via Passionfruit Records.

Opener "Orbit", sets the scene for the EP with its sweeping cosmic synth melodies and whiplash breaks. That theme continues through the EP, merging sci-fi futurism, trippy melodies and ear-ripping drums. There are, however, plenty of left turns peppered in to keep us on our toes, like Lizzie Berchie's soulful vocals on "Missing You" and the techiness of "Pipe Dream" and "Lifestyle".

Speaking on what inspired Traversal Tapes, SIMMS shares: "Traversal Tapes acts as a pathway into the depths of my earliest musical influences. Made with the intent to transmit time into awareness and encapsulate the essence of human movement through dance music."

Traversal Tapes arrives on the heels of a very busy period for the DJ and producer, whose Foundation FM residency and appearances on Rinse, Balamii and the like have sent him on a steep incline. Tipped by SHERELLE and Nia Archives, he was also handpicked by Shy FX to join him at his Notting Hill Carnival stage last year.
