Little Simz, Kojey Radical, Joy Crookes & More Nominated For 2022 Mercury Prize

July 27, 2022

This year we've witnessed the release of some incredible, forward-thinking albums, some of which have been shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize award.

Works like Reason To Smile by Kojey Radical, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert by Little Simz and Joy Crooke's Skin have been nominated out of twelve albums. Arriving as his debut album, Kojey's Reason To Smile is a dynamic body of work worth all the accolades it receives along with Little Simz, as she steps up with an in-depth dissection of her inner world. Joy Crooke's project is ridden with intimate storytelling and social commentary inspired by her experiences and environment, over lush production.

Punk outfit Nova Twins, Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Wet Leg and many others also share the spotlight of nominations this year. There'll be a diverse panel of judges this year including Jamz Supernova, Loyle Carner, Phil Alexander, and musician Anna Calvi, to name a few. The awards show will take place September 8 at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.
