Last month, North London's Shocka released his latest project, Conscious Grime, a statement of intent and a crowning moment in his career.

Alongside the release, Shocka has also been uploading videos for some of the tracks to his Instagram. "North London", featuring Bushkin, is a highlight, but he's also added clips for "Lead The Way" with Flirta D and others.

It's only available on socials for now, but the video directed by Frostbite Films tracks Shocka and Bushkin around North London as they trade verses about growing up on the estate, the things that change and those that don't.

The new project is a towering achievement for the veteran MC, built on years of self-improvement and considerable personal struggle. Conscious Grime doesn't dwell on the challenges he's overcome, instead it focuses on his vision for the future, propelled by bouncy instrumentals from STRETCH and Cin and lively cameos from Bushkin and Flirta D.

A sequel to Conscious Grime is already on the way, with clips for some of the tracks on Shocka's Instagram. In the meantime, listen to Conscious Grime below.
