Hackney rapper ShaSimone continues dominating the UK rap space with her commanding presence but her debut EP Simma Down seals the deal.

"I'm top five, dead or alive" is the opening line on the first track "Top 5", setting the tone for the heat that follows. There's a mixture of bravado and reflection in her bars, accompanied by a range of production styles courtesy of PBThePlug, Likkle Dotz, TK, and 4Play. As for features, she calls on Avelino for a quick exchange on "Future", and Alté star BOJ who delivers a sultry hook over a funky bassline on "Ten Toes".

She comments on the project saying, "It's a body of work that shows the growth in my music and my growth as an individual. The title is a play on words, my nickname being Simma and the definition of simmer—a state or temperature just below boiling point."

ShaSimone has also had an impressive run of features this year on tracks like Lethal Bizzle's "Dapper Dan (Remix)" and the Clipz-produced carnival heater "No Time" featuring Nia Archives, Cristale, and Beenie Man.
