Shaé Universe And Kojey Radical Remind Themselves Of Their Worth In "Royalty" Video

March 15, 2021

Right at the top of this year, Shaé Universe and Kojey Radical teamed up for "Royalty", a much-needed follow-up to their last collaboration, "700 Pennies", from Kojey's In God's Body.

With Shaé's astonishing vocal range and Kojey's commanding presence on his guest verse, the pair created a proud, self-affirming track that packed a hint of a drill influence on the instrumental's slick bass line.

Now the pair are back with the video and it's every bit as regal as the track deserves. Directed by Ray Fiasco, we see Shaé and Kojey decked out in sparkling jewels surrounded by a sprawling palace and loyal courtiers.

"This song was written for my tribe around the world", Shaé explains. "It's an anthem for all kings and queens to empower themselves with. It took me a long time to comfortably sit in my own worth for a multitude of reasons, many of which were subconscious influences that I was completely oblivious to until recent years, and I know many other people have experienced the same or are still somewhere in that unlearning process. This song is a reminder that you've got this and you're worthy."

"Royalty" is the first single to be taken from Shaé's debut full-length project, which is due later this year.
