A-COLD-WALL* Founder Samuel Ross Returns With Fourth Edition Of Black British Artist Grants Programme

August 17, 2022

Samuel Ross, founder of A-COLD-WALL* and celebrated artist and designer, returns with the fourth edition of his Black British Artist Grants programme which provides financial support and mentorship for aspiring Black creatives.

Spread across many disciplines from fashion, fine art, furniture, sculpture, to industrial design and graphic design, 10 candidates are each awarded £2,500 alongside mentoring from well-known figures within the arts. The central focus of the programme is to heighten the visibility of marginalised communities across the creative industries and put action behind the need for diversity and access.

Since its genesis in 2020, they've supported 30 exceptional artists, business owners and designers including architect Dominique Petite-Frère, designer Mac Collins and photographer Ronan Mckenzie. This year they've recruited founder and artistic director of Wales Bonner, Grace Wales Bonner and art historian, broadcaster and director of V&A East Dr Gus Casely-Hayford to join the advisory board meaning the final decision will be left in capable hands.

The deadline to apply is August 29 so head to community.samuel-ross.com for more information.
