Samm Henshaw Marks Album Anniversary With Intimate Documentary 'Us'
Last January singer-songwriter Samm Henshaw revealed his emotive, independently-released album Untidy Soul and to celebrate its success he returns with a documentary titled Us.
Filmed by Dan Robinson, we wander through the album's creative process and witness the birthing of a few of its tracks with producer and close friend Josh Grant. We also get to witness the behind-the-scenes preparation for Samm's live shows across the UK and US, where he candidly expresses his past anxiety at the thought of not selling out every single venue. With Untidy Soul he was able to travel around the world with his messages of joy and love, performing to a room full of enthusiastic listeners with a tight-knit live band.
Speaking of the tour, Samm said, "The Untidy tour was a moment for me to be able to embrace the mess of life and who we are, but to be able to know that there is hope and change and leave all your concerns, worries, insecurities and anxieties outside for a moment and being able to be in that room."
Across Untidy Soul's 16 tracks we were treated to guest spots from Tobe Nwigwe, Maverick Sabre, and Keyon Harrold, who each added their own soulful layers to Samm's heartfelt explorations. In the documentary below you can relive these special moments with Samm Henshaw.
