Sam Wise Takes His Genre-Blending Style To New Heights With 'Free Game' Tape

September 06, 2021

Known for his genre-blending style of rap, Sam Wise makes a highly-anticipated return with his new mixtape titled Free Game.

Assisted by a handful of top class artists from the likes of Jesse James Solomon, Swift, Lord Apex, Young Fume, Knucks and more, Free Game is a testament to Wise's constant evolution as an artist, from the blend of sounds he taps into to his fluid pen game. The 13-track project also features occasional horn licks from artist and producer Venna as well as production credits from Archie Cardella, Hermxn and Leon Jordan. The combination of all these creative minds gives Wise to showcase his expansive universe of sounds, textures and lyrical flare, showing off a different side of him with each collaboration.

Some of the many reload-worthy tracks include "Cheque Came", where Sam and Jesse James Solomon float melodic, unhurried flows over the spritely, jazz-licked production. In the spirit of consistency, Knucks makes an appearance on "Indeed", spitting over the electronic, otherworldly production. Elsewhere, introspective closer "Forget/Forgive" offers the final standout moment with a personal story on the topic of forgiveness.

Coming off the back of some major festival appearances, there's no sign of Sam slowing down as he gears up to own the stage once again for the Free Game UK tour. Step into the sonic world of Sam Wise with the mixtape below.
