Rockwell & Novelist Take On Broken Political Systems On Fiery "Peak"

November 09, 2022

D&B champion Rockwell has called on South London rhymer Novelist for the politically-charged number titled "Peak".

Over a sturdy breakbeat and a cascade of biting effects Novelist charges through with his straight-talking bars, attacking the flaws in our political system. In between the rhythmic chaos, soundbites of RMT's Eddie Dempsey from his appearance on The Jeremy Vine Show reveal themselves, driving home the stark reality of the government's failings. Novelist steps with ease over Rockwell's production, delivering the perfect amount of fuel to get through these "Peak" times.

Speaking on the collaboration, Rockwell shares: "With a couple of my more recent productions I've been trying to strip things back, taking a more considered approach to adding elements and ensuring that everything that makes the cut it's integral to the track.

"I struggle to articulate how much of an honour for me it is to collaborate with Novelist on 'Peak' and from the recording session we did, the bars mirrored the instrumental and came together in an effortless fashion."

"Peak" is taken from Rockwell's recent four-track EP of the same name, where he offers up two raging instrumentals and a track with Swiss vocalist LaMeduza.
