News emerged yesterday (June 5, 2026) that Talay Riley had died at the age of 35. No cause of death has been confirmed. 🕊️

A gifted singer, songwriter and performer, Talay Riley (born Mark Olayinka Orabiyi) built a reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile musical talents—one who reached millions around the world with his songwriting for the likes of Britney Spears, Jessie J and Dua Lipa.

But before the pop success, Riley—born and raised in East London—was a grime MC and local vocalist, lending his talents to tracks like “Hard Life” with Lightnin, one of the most emotive cuts to grace Channel U back in ‘06, and later working closely with Chip.

Talay Riley leaves behind a catalogue of influential work and a legacy that will continue to inspire songwriters, artists and fans for years to come.

May he rest in eternal peace 🤍
