Ragz Originale Hints At New Solo Album With "troublin"

March 15, 2023

North London's Ragz Originale has returned with the eagerly anticipated "Troublin". The self-produced track sees Ragz continue to push the boundaries of alternative R&B in a way that only he can.

With lines like, "Gonna be a whole lot of smoke back home, gonna take way more than redeeming" opening the second verse, "Troublin" speaks on the paranoia of getting caught out by a partner. Even throughout the dark and murky soundscape and the ill behaviour of the content, there's a bounce that undercuts the jeopardy of the single.

It's been a minute since Ragz has blessed us with solo music. His 2021 EP, WOAH, was a cult classic and cuts like "Brush U" and "Low Frequency" marked him out as one of the next to blow in UK music.

Last year, Ragz Originale teamed up with BenjiFlow and Oscar Worldpeace on the 10 tracks that form ICONICY, and it looks as if "Troublin" is going to set the tone for what's to come. On that subject, Ragz says: "This is the first song I recorded for my new album. It definitely sets the narrative."
