R&B Singer Kyra Celebrates The Rollercoaster Of Motherhood On "Stampede"

Balancing motherhood and a career is a near-impossible task and that goes tenfold if your career happens to be in the music industry. That is, unless you're West London R&B singer Kyra who has chosen to use this as an opportunity, channeling the experience into her art.

Kyra had been hard at work on her new EP, but when she fell pregnant she had to pause production and put a halt to months of work. Frustrated by the experience but inspired by the new journey ahead, she recorded "Stampede" as a means of expressing the adversity motherhood brings and the different challenges she faced, both physically and psychologically, during her pregnancy.

Explaining in more detail, Kyra said of the track: "Before I finished the EP, I unexpectedly fell pregnant and this little thing barged into my world and literally became the stampede in my life. So it's an ode to my son and all the brutally wonderful ways he's transformed my life for the better, no matter how testing motherhood has been. He is, in fact, my muse. This whole time I was looking for someone and, instead, that someone found me."

"Stampede" is taken from Kyra's upcoming EP, Xanadu, which arrives in the next few months.
