Quinn Oulton And Demae Combine Their Magic On Jazzy "Show Your Face"

June 09, 2021

As a teaser to his forthcoming EP (set to land in July), multi-instrumentalist and producer Quinn Oulton pairs up with London vocalist Demae to deliver the summery track "Show Your Face". Quinn Oulton's music can be filed alongside musicians like Jordan Rakei, Moses Boyd and other UK jazz heavyweights that continue to push the boundaries of what jazz can be.

Arriving from different musical backgrounds, both musicians provide a contrasting blend of vocal tones that marry well to create an airy soundscape with the production work of Oulton himself. Demae bounces over the production with her free-flowing jazzy melodies, dipping in and out of her lower vocal register with ease. The colourful track is a result of Oulton's acute attention to detail and training as a jazz saxophonist, and continues on from previous EPs Long Gone and the self-titled joint from earlier this year.

Rising from the household lo-fi/hip-hop outfit, Hawk House, Demae is hailed for her dreamy delivery over any piece of music she appears on, providing a captivating listening experience. Continuing to flex her vocal abilities, she also frequently tours with R&B singer Fatima as a backing vocalist.

While we count down the days until the EP arrives, sink into Quinn Oulton's sweet, jazzy offering below.
