Proph Shows Us What He's Made Of In "Celebrity Crush" Video

June 19, 2024

Anyone familiar with rapper/producer Proph knows that he deals in high-end rap, balancing tough, no-nonsense lyricism with subtle, melodic beats that he produces himself.

Last month, he released "Smoke All Summer", a firecracker of a track and the first in a three-part series of singles. Now he's back with the second track, "Celebrity Crush", another self-produced cut that takes dreamy, jazzy keys and grounds them with skittering drill hi-hats, a pounding kick drum, and take-no-prisoners rhyming.

Making full use of his natural gift for rap, the 20-year-old rhymer tells stories of his formative years and the events that have stuck with him. Hitting us with some of his most incisive lyrics yet, the South Londoner offers both candid introspection and defiant strength in the face of life's challenges.

Hit play on the Mark Jones-directed video for "Celebrity Crush" to see Proph and the team cut loose in the capital.
