PRS Foundation's 'Power Up' Announces Second Year Of Participant Programme For Black Creators

January 19, 2022

Last year Power Up—founded by PRS Foundation and Ben Wynter (Unstoppable Music Group) in partnership with YouTube Music, Beggars Group, Spotify and the Black Music Coalition—launched their first, highly-applauded Participant Programme, catered to those in need of mentoring and career support with navigating the music industry. Now they're calling out for a fresh cohort of Black creatives, artists and industry professionals who are looking to advance in their chosen career paths for their Year 2 programme.

Power Up are one of the few organisations within the music industry that have the intention to magnify the works of Black creatives by dismantling restrictive barriers, creating fairer opportunities and pushing for better representation in the different sectors.

This is a space that will ensure the elevation of their chosen participants by providing a handful of essential advantages, including grants and marketing support, masterclasses, collaborative opportunities, mentoring and coaching—the list goes on.

Their first year was a success and saw participants take home awards, receive promotions and other career-enhancing benefits that propelled the careers of each individual. All types of creatives are welcome from classical, rap, grime, R&B, soul artists to artists managers and producers. Past participants include Mcknasty, Ego Ella May, Dapz On The Map, Donae'o and plenty others.

Applications are now open until Thursday February 17 with only 40 spots available, so don't miss out on the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and receive further insight into the music industry.

Head to the PRS Foundation site to apply.
