Potter Payper Claims His Crown With New Mixtape 'Thanks For Hating'

February 23, 2024

Potter Payper is fast cementing himself as one of the greats of UK rap as he shares his new mixtape, Thanks For Hating.

The new tape is the sequel to 2021's Thanks For Waiting, but the circumstances of its release are vastly different. Back then, he was ready to set out on a new chapter with an expectant fanbase. After the positive response to the Training Day 3 mixtape the year before, he was determined to capitalise on it and give something back to the fans that had stood by him.

The Essex don has been on an upward trajectory ever since. Last year, he released his debut studio album, Real Back In Style, and in return, he scooped the Best Album award at the MOBO Awards a few weeks ago.

There's a defiant tone to Thanks For Hating, as the title suggests. Keen to claim his crown and silence his critics, this is him betting on himself and his newly minted 36TheLabel venture. Driving the point further, the cover of Thanks For Hating has Potter outside a plush gaff leaning on a luxury car, with his people holding up his many plaques.

Joining him on this 18-track journey, he's brought in a wide range of collaborators, including Slim, adm:t, Mozzy, Daffy, Clavish, Millyz, Born Trappy, KayMuni, KB, Headie One, Marnz Malone, and Nafe Smallz.

It's already been quite the year for the rap legend, and it's not even March yet.
