Ipswich-Born Piers James Reveals Eagerly-Awaited 'A Dying Breed Pt II' EP

June 21, 2021

Piers James is bridging the gap between mainstream UK rap and alternative underground music one project at a time. Combining his versatile production to his thrilling perspectives on love, cultural identity, government oppression and more, he has returned with an exciting follow-up to last year's A Dying Breed.

Although each track takes different sonic routes, fusing elements of R&B, jazz, hip hop, reggae and grime, the entire project is underpinned by a warmth and passion that courses through his music.

A Dying Breed Pt II is a space where James knows no boundaries to his creativity, whether he's showing off a captivating vocal delivery on tracks like "What Roses Smell Like" and "Dreams Of A Dreamer" or flexing his playful flow on the bouncy "No More Idols".

The Ipswich-born rapper is a refreshing addition to the alternative rap scene and his coming-of-age stories are bridging the gap between the mainstream and the underground one project at a time.

Speaking on the project, he says: "A Dying Breed is an ode to anyone who is truly pushing their craft, a reminder to never lose your individuality and to never give up on something that you believe in. We're not here for money and fame. We are here to document our life's experiences, share new knowledge, pave new paths and create our own legacies."
