For the past few weeks, online platform Phase Transition has been running a series of live streams featuring some top tier talent in a bid to reclaim underground culture, nurture grassroots creativity and keep the spirit of sound system culture alive and well amidst the pandemic. That series has all been building to tomorrow's crescendo: an unmissable set from iconic producer, soundsystem operator and Carnival hero Aba Shanti.

Every step of the ongoing event has been centred around a particular theme or idea. The first, which featured Skream b2b Riz La Teef, Heny G and Footsie was a tribute to the golden days of FWD>> at Plastic People; the following week saw Scratcha DVA, Grandmixxer and Mez put together a live show that explored grime, funky and all countless sounds permeating the UK underground; then the third week raised a glass to Metalheadz's legendary parties at Blue Note with the guiding hands of two of the original residents, Bailey and DJ Flight, assisted by Tasha and SP.

That brings us to tomorrow's event. Running from 7pm BST on YouTube and Twitch, Abashanti will be digging through his vast record collection to bring us dub, reggae and beyond for a history lesson that should plenty of surprises and illuminating moments for even the most clued-up fan of the culture.

Every artist involved is getting paid and any extra money made goes towards helping develop young artists and the next generation of talent.
