Pete & Bas Forge A South London Alliance With M24 On "The Old Estate"

December 03, 2020

The proverbial old guard meets the new in an intriguing new collaboration between Pete & Bas and M24. It's fairly easy to imagine that Pete & Bas were quite the force to be reckoned with in their day and they've transferred that energy to the drill scene perfectly.

On "The Old Estate", the charismatic duo's South London twang takes us back to the older London with an accent that's slowly dying out. Pushing the "geezer" archetype, Pete and Bas find themselves outside Millwall's The Den, Holsten cans in hand, in a café with walls decorated with Millwall players past and present.

For his part, rapper M24 sprays bars with conviction, providing a cruddy, new school essence to "The Old Estate". There may be some laughs here, but just like Pete & Bas as they step into the drill scene, M24 isn't here to play about either.
