Pa Salieu Stands Defiant On "B***k"

October 21, 2020

Pa Salieu's done it again.

Meeting the challenged laid down by previous anthems "Betty", "Bang Out" and "My Family" with BackRoad Gee, the Coventry rapper is back with "B***k", a defiant celebration of Blackness around the world. Produced by Felix, AOD and Kwes, "B***k" continues Salieu's trend for genre-blending, taking swinging Afrobeats rhythms and fusing them with elements of rap.

The video, directed by the increasingly ubiquitous Meeks & Frost, follows Salieu as he switches between all black trackies, Black Panther fatigues and traditional attire from across Africa. Set against deep and rich brown hues, Salieu cuts a striking figure with an indomitable presence.

When speaking about B***k, Pa says, "The title being censored is to highlight how throughout history parts of society have portrayed Black people and culture almost like a swear word."
