HERITAGE: P Money And Ed Sheeran Do An Acoustic Version Of Their Track "Family" (2011)

June 14, 2019

Back in 2011, before Ed Sheeran was the global chart dominator he is today, he was yet to release his debut album but he was beginning to make a name for himself. Having built up a healthy buzz via SBTV, Ed had begun to develop ties with some of grime's biggest names and out of that came the groundbreaking EP No. 5 Collaborations Project. Release before +, the collaborative EP featured appearances from Wiley, Jme, Mikill Pane, Devlin, Ghetts, Sway, Wretch 32 and P Money.

One of the most moving songs on the EP, "Family" (Ed's first of several P Money collabs) tells the story of the time the Lewisham MC was in a serious car crash, literally picking up the story at the impact and running through the aftermath and the prayers he said for a chance to survive to see his family again. Here they both are, performing the track for 1Xtra's Live Lounge, giving Ed arguably the best collaboration on the project.
