Online Marketplace Ebonyx Launched To Connect People With Black-Owned Businesses

August 10, 2020

Back in June, we saw the triumphant launch of Black Pound Day, an initiative launched by So Solid Crew's Swiss (in partnership with Sony imprint and cultural hub Since '93), which aimed to push Black-owned businesses and Black products into the limelight and now there's another way you can support: Ebonyx.

Founded by Ashley Ebanks and Lucan Goering, the online marketplace is a platform for Black entrepreneurs to connect directly with customers to sell everything from haircare to jewellery to clothing, all inspired by Black culture and Afrocentrism.

So far they have around 100 predominantly Black businesses uploading products to the site and they even have a rewards account for users. On top of that, they've also pledged that for every order over £25 they'll make a donation to the DeWorm The World Initiative, a charity that tackles parasitic worm infections in some of the world's poorest countries.
