Nia Archives Delivers A Rush Of Junglist Euphoria With "Headz Gone West"

April 08, 2021

Based in London, but with roots in Manchester and Leeds, Nia Archives is the product of decades of rave experimentation, from the earliest soundsystem clashes to pirate radio grime and everything in between.

As we'll see on her upcoming Headz Gone West EP when it drops on April 29, every overlapping element can be heard filtering its way into her sound. Before that though, you can get a taste with the title track and its brain-fizzing visuals from Delphino Productions.

Stitching together seemingly disparate influences, from grime and garage to Erykah Badu to the almighty Amen break, it's all tied together by her Jamaican heritage. A heady and intoxicating blend, if you weren't missing the dancefloor before, you most definitely will after this.
