Nia Archives Packs Six Rugged Yet Soulful Jungle Riddims Into New 'Forbidden Feelingz' EP

March 11, 2022

Bradford-born singer-songwriter, producer and visual artist Nia Archives ushers in the warmer days with her newest EP Forbidden Feelingz. After delivering two teasers of the EP in the form of the bass-heavy "18 & Over" and the misty "Luv Like", Nia Archives now returns with six tracks of unwavering breakbeat patterns and intimate storytelling.

We begin with the grand opener "Ode 2 Maya Angelou", where Nia honours one of her biggest inspirations with some resounding vocals and atmospheric layers before seamlessly transitioning into the title track. The entire project utilises a wide range of rhythmic variations and euphoric melodies as we journey into a land of Nia's internal feelings on subjects like relationships, losing and reconnecting with yourself and body image.

Nia reunites with Delphino Productions to add some visuals to the penultimate "Part Of Me". co-directed by them both, through the glitchy, otherworldly effects we trail along with Nia as she passes through the congested streets of Brighton on a sunny day.

Speaking on the video, she comments: "I wanted to shoot the 'Part Of Me' visual in Brighton as it is my happy place where I often go to escape. I was so lucky to catch the sunniest day of the year as I have a strong feeling that 2022 will be the summer of jungle."
