Mushkilla Combines With Kobe JT For A Hypnotic Mix Of House And Garage On '4x4' EP

August 31, 2022

Bristol-born, London-based rapper Mushkilla has kept us on our toes this year, releasing bar-heavy bangers like "Dillinger" featuring Jevon Ives, "Icarus" and "Refix" where he rearranges Tarika Blue's soulful classic "Dreamflower". He continues his mellow rap experiments only this time he stirs in elements of house and UKG for his latest EP 4x4 and it features Kobe JT on production.

The opener is an easy-going cut where swirling effects crescendo before introducing subtle chords and a steady bass kick. Mushkilla controls the mic with some intimate bars about spending time with a romantic partner which continues in the second track "UKGZ". This one arrives with an accentuated percussion section, channelling raw elements of UK garage with complimentary layers of melodies through electronic instrumentation. In both tracks Mushkilla paints a vibrant picture with his bars, taking listeners on a dynamic ride through his mind.

4x4 arrives as Kobe JT's first release since his Time Is Now White, Vol.11 EP. Before you dig back into that one, dive into 4x4 below.
