For the past few years, Murkage Dave has proved time and again that we can always rely on him to deliver real yet heart-warming reflections of his surroundings and inner-city living. Continuing this streak of vulnerable lyricism paired with soulful melodies, he returns with "World I Want To Live In".

With AARRT on production, we are instantly welcomed with the warm organ keys (thanks to gospel icon Nicky Brown) and some powerful vocals as Dave speaks on the importance of empathy and understanding for each other.

Sketching out his optimistic vision for the future, he offers some advice on how to rise above the negativity that people direct towards others, even pulling from some of his own personal interactions with negative people. "I know you're tired of the fight, what if I decide to fight with you?", he sings, offering encouragement to anyone feeling alone on their journey.

Speaking on the intentions behind the track, Dave says, "I wanted to find a way to encourage empathy between different people fighting for different causes. If things are gonna get better we all need to help each other out. I also explored the paranoia that social media can place on you. I'm only ever a few clicks away from someone who thinks I'm subhuman, on social media these people are faceless, so it creates this subconscious fear when you're out in the street. Who are these people?"

Lifted from Murkage Dave's upcoming album The City Needs A Hero (due May 27), "World I Want To Live In" is a reminder that through kindness and patience we all have the power to change what we don't like about the world. Hit play on the visuals from director Saman Aminzadeh below.
