Murkage Dave Shines A Realistic Light On London Living With Two New Tracks
Following his 2018 album Murkage Dave Changed My Life and his joint project with Manga Saint Hilare the following year, Leytonstone-based artist Murkage Dave returns to offer more of his relatable views on London life on "Please Don't Move To London It's A Trap" accompanied by "Awful Things" with New York-based singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek.
Produced by AART, "Awful Things" features a mellow soundscape with some full-bodied grooves, which Dave laces with his introspective songwriting and soulful vocals. Caroline Polachek arrives shortly after to share her own perspectives, adding a contrasting texture to Dave's familiar British twang.
Alongside that, we also got "Please Don't Move To London It's A Trap", a track built around some understated guitar strums, showing yet another side to Dave's unique storytelling abilities. Laced with satirical anecdotes from his dating life and the pocket-draining reality of living in the city, this double release is a bright reminder of how essential Dave's presence is in UK music.
