Having first announced the project roughly a year ago, Ms Banks is back with Bank Statement and it's a bold assertion of her self-worth.

Packed into nine tracks, she walks us through a variety of sounds, including Afro-Pop, R&B and drill, sometimes creating a hybrid of these genres so she can flex her well-seasoned abilities. For the most part, the spotlight is all her own, save for "Party", where receives some assistance from Naira Marley and "Typa Way" where she's joined by Tion Wayne and Eight9FLY.

On "Bare With Me", Banks shares a bit of her past and sheds light on what motivates her to continue grafting to reach new levels of success, laying sweet vocals over the 4Play and Sammy Soso-produced beat. Elsewhere, on moments like "Drip" and "Favourite Girl" she amps up her slick, braggadocious style, proving that there's no style she hasn't got under control. Then there's "Favourite Girl", which lands with some clean visuals by Teeeezy C; oozing with elegance and grace, a selection of men arrive as Banks reflects on all the romantic love she attracts.

Speaking on the intent of the project, Ms Banks says: "A bank statement is necessary to prove a multitude of things, proof of address, proof of income, proof of name etc. My Bank Statement proves that women are multifaceted, we can be soft, we can be vulnerable but also a boss and tough. My Bank statement proves I am versatile and I can make bangers whilst killing any beat I jump on…"
