Moses Boyd Calls On Katy B To Shine On Club-Ready "2 Far Gone" Remix

February 17, 2021

Throwing us back to her Rinse days in the early 2010s, Katy B has been called upon to reshape Moses Boyd's "2 Far Gone" to create a new version inspired by the bass-heavy sounds that once shook clubs across the UK and beyond.

The latest version of the track, which featured on Moses Boyd's phenomenal, Mercury-nominated debut album Dark Matter, steps away from the jazz-like piano chords of the original for a more eclectic club sound. If anything, Katy B's soprano vocal range gives "2 Far Gone" an almost garage tinge, intertwined with an earth-shattering bass line and snare pattern. "2 Far Gone" is one that gets you moving, and a lovely reminder of the clubs where strobe lights once shone.

Speaking on the remix, Katy B said: "I'm really honoured to link up with Moses on this remix to celebrate the one year anniversary of Dark Matter, such a fan of Moses and the album so really excited to be part of it. The lyric '2 Far Gone' felt like something that you're trying to hold on to but too much has happened to be saved. The instrumental has such an energy and drive but also a darkness and drama to it so wanted to explore that feeling of an internal battle, trying to find a way to let go."

Boyd reiterated, adding that he was "so glad we could make this collaboration happen. Much love to the legend Kay B for featuring on this version."
