Mist Opens Up About His Tragic Past On "Cemetery Walks"

November 23, 2020

Never one to hold back in any sense, Mist returns with new single "Cemetery Walks", exploring his personal experiences of grief with stunning candour. On the new pain-filled track, the Birmingham rapper reveals he lost both his mother and father within months of each other, which is gut-wrenching enough to imagine, let alone experience.

"Cemetery Walks" takes us through several stages of Mist's life through anguish and eventual career successes, revealing his experiences with loss in searing detail. However, redemption rules the roost as Mist's bars find hope amid tragic circumstances, saying this pain brought anthems in a solemn flow laced with an emotive, Hazard-produced beat. Director Lx captures the mood expertly, applying saturated tones to a reflective Mist as he considers the importance of family and vows to keep them close to his heart.

Kareem Adeshina, who co-produced the video with Linah Bensadok, commented: "This video is also in loving memory of Linah's father, who sadly passed away during pre-production of this music video. May he rest in eternal peace."
