Mahalia And Burna Boy "Simmer" On Their Dancehall-Inspired Collab

Mahalia And Burna Boy "Simmer" On Their Dancehall-Inspired Collab

July 04, 2019

With her 13-track debut album Love And Compromise due on September 6, which we're told will include previous drops "I Wish I Missed My Ex" and "Do Not Disturb", Leicester's Mahalia has now revealed another single from the project, the Burna Boy-assisted "Simmer".

Placed third on the albums tracklist, the song is their own take on Beenie Man's 1997 dancehall classic "Who Am I", but unlike many recent songs that sample previously released hits, this song pays homage without simply taking the hook and trying to repackage it as a new song.

Mahalia brings her own style and grace to the track with Burna Boy being a worthy feature, making it anyone's guess what else she has up her sleeve for the full album release. Check out "Simmer" below.

Updated on July 17: the official video has now landed.
