Veteran Music Video Director Luke Biggins Has Passed Away

October 21, 2021

As you may have seen on social media last night, acclaimed music video director Luke Biggins has tragically passed away. A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Biggins' work in UK music stretches back to the turn of the millennium. When he first emerged, it was the time of Channel U and both grime and UK rap were widely overlooked by the mainstream. At a time when everything was DIY, and in some cases a little rough around the edges, Biggins' polished aesthetics gave UK music the slick, high-end sheen it deserved.

More recently, his formidable reputation made him one of the most sought-after directors in UK music. Whether it was a director or as an executive producer or director of photography, having Luke Biggins' name attached to your project was a big deal.

Recent credits included work with modern day legends Chip, Young Adz and Skepta, as well as newer school talents like Rebecca Garton, Kamille, S1mba, Hardy Caprio, Ivorian Doll, and Darkoo. He was also managing director of Yellow Fish and co-founded Jacuzzi Films and Studio.

May he rest in peace.
